SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT

Is your business on Social Media?

  • Facebook (Meta) has over 1 billion daily users

  •  Twitter (X) has over 320 million monthly users

  •  Instagram has over 75 million daily users

There are so many opportunities for your business to directly engage with your customers, whether its through Flicker, Pinterest, Snap Chat, Yelp, Twitter, Linked In… I could  list these all day.

Every single social platform can be utilised either directly or indirectly to get your business in front of an audience who are receptive to your business, and with numbers like that, you don’t really have an excuse not to if you are serious about generating income online.  The thing is, with all the data people are giving away for free online, especially on social media, businesses have more opportunity than ever, but with the increased opportunity comes greater responsibility not to abuse these platforms (lest they risk becoming something altogether, well, evil).

The idea behind social connection

I have already mentioned the importance of creating amazing content here, and some formats are better suited to specific social platforms than others.  The truth is, people use search engines to find things and answer questions, so it’s important to be informative and helpful, but the data shows  (I really, really, love data) that most people use social media to relax, connect and have fun. This means that content and advertising on these platforms has to be completely different in nature; you have to offer them something, you have to be funny, and above all, you have to be share-worthy.

What’s more, social media has more of a conversational style so it’s rare to want a formal social presence. Social media is a place to let your hair down and let your freak flag fly (to an extent).

70% of Australians use social media
56% of large businesses are on social media
32% of businesses advertise on social media

From business to social media mogul

There are a lot of ways to find out what keywords and phrases consumers are using, but the best method is of course to get the information directly from the search engines themselves.

Next, you start answering the questions your customers are asking by creating high quality and relevant content. Whether that’s with an article, infographics, videos, or any other kind of content, the trick is to make it useful. In this day and age people are able to obtain an extremely large amount of free information on any subject. Your content has to be good, some might even say brilliant.
